Mr Obi Agu is a leading Consultant Vascular & Endovascular Surgeon with a major interest in minimally invasive (keyhole) approach to complex vascular problems. He trained and is consultant to University College London and the Royal Free Hospitals. Mr Obi Agu is Consultant Surgeon to HCA London Hospitals, London Clinic, London Medical and BMI hospitals.

He is an expert in the state of the art management of varicose & thread veins using the latest endovenous laser, radiofrequency technology and sclerotherapy, endovascular stenting of aortic disease, balloon angioplasty, stenting and surgery for leg pain, claudication, poor circulation, ulcers and diabetic foot complications and carotid artery surgery for stroke prevention. He is a leading authority in the endovascular aortic stent repair for complex aneurysms and dissections. His team of renowned international experts routinely successfully manage complex adult vascular and arterio-venous malformations using a range of minimally invasive and open surgical techniques.

Mr Obi Agu's post-graduate thesis was on the cause and management of varicose veins. His research/clinical interest also includes deep vein thrombosi (DVT) and chronic leg swelling including anticoagulation, compression therapy, thrombolysis, venoplasty and stenting where appropriate. He leads a specialist leg ulcer clinic with excellent results.

Mr Obi Agu is a qualified general surgeon providing specialist care for a range of general & abdominal surgical conditions including repairing hernias, appendicectomies, lumps and bumps. He works very closely with leading spinal and oncological surgeons providing surgical access for benign and malignant spinal conditions, retroperitoneal and pelvic tumours. He also provides botulinum (botox) and thoracoscopic sympathectomy service for excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis).

Teaching

Mr Obi Agu lectures in surgery to postgraduates and undergraduates at the Royal Free & University College London medical school. He is a regular speaker at national and international professional meetings and conferences. He is a recognised proctor/trainer in endovascular stenting and management of aortic disease
