Prof Sonu Shamdasani

Sonu Shamdasani is Philemon Professor of Jung History and directs the UCL Centre for the History of Psychological Disciplines. In 2009-10, he was the acting director of the Wellcome Trust Centre for the History of Medicine at UCL.

Professor Sonu Shamdasani works on the history of psychology and psychiatry. His research follows two intersecting vertices: the reconstruction of the formation of modern psychological disciplines and therapeutics from the mid-nineteenth century onwards, and a reconstruction of the formation of work of Jung, based on primary archival materials.

Among numerous works, he is the author of 'C. G. Jung: A Biography in Books' (W. W. Norton), and editor and co-translator of 'C. G. Jung's The Red Book: Liber Novus' (W. W. Norton).

Dr James Wilson

James Wilson is Senior Lecturer in the Philosophy Department at UCL, where he is also Vice-Dean (Interdisciplinarity) for the Faculty of Arts and Humanities. He was Director of the Centre for Philosophy, Justice and Health from 2013-15, and since 2015 has been co-director of its larger successor, the UCL Health Humanities Centre.

 His research integrates philosophy with other relevant disciplines, such as epidemiology, economics and political theory, to explore conceptual and practical challenges in the sustainable and equitable improvement of human wellbeing. Dr Wilson focuses particularly on public health ethics, and the ownership and governance of ideas and information.
