Visiting Academics

Visitors/Researchers staying for 4 weeks + (up to a maximum of one year)

Visitors wishing to stay for more than 4 weeks must apply to UCL's Affiliate Academic scheme. Applicants are required to provide a current CV and a proposal of the research they wish to undertake as part of the application process. They will also be charged a fee (pro rata of the UK/EU research student fees) for use of our facilities. In return, we are able to provide them with a user id which allows access to the computer network and the library. Please note that borrowing rights are currently only available to those visitors staying 3 months or more.

Visitors/Researchers staying for up to 4 weeks

Visitors staying for up to 4 weeks will to be able to access our library facilities at no cost. They will have access to the Library, although they will have reference access only. To apply, please contact us with a brief expression of interest and providing details of a referee from your current institution or employer.

If you wish to work with a specific member of CMII academic staff during your visit, please contact this academic in the first instance, copying in the Admin team (selcs.postgraduate@ucl.ac.uk).

You may be asked to provide a contribution to the Centre during your visit, which may take the form of a paper or presentation. This will be discussed with your academic contact.

Visiting Research Students

EU/Overseas students who wish to visit CMII and use the facilities at UCL towards a higher degree should be admitted as Visiting Research Students for which a separate fee-based system operates, administered through the central UCL Admissions Office. Information on how to apply as a Visiting Research Student is available here
