MSc Courses

With our strong reputation for space research (xx in the UK*) and systems engineering – UCL offers the ideal environment in which to pursue master’s level study in this highly specialised field.

Choose from one of four MScs, offered with the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering and the Centre for Systems Engineering. Our MSc in Space Science & Engineering has two streams, depending on whether you want to focus more on research or technology development.  

Space is a key growth area in the UK and there are many exciting opportunities for graduates with relevant skills in the space sector. UCL master’s students have gone onto leading positions with employers like ESA and Airbus, while others have progressed onto a PhD.

MSc in Space Science & Engineering: Space Science

Tap into UCL’s space science expertise developed over five decades on this broad-based, cutting-edge science master’s. You’ll gain a strong grounding in all the main aspects of space science and space instrumentation, together with specialised training in research methods, to put you a strong position for space-related careers in academia, the space industry and public sector.

Taught by UCL Space & Climate Physics, with modules offered by UCL Electronic & Electrical Engineering, this MSc covers all the basic principles of space technology and satellite communications, along with specialised training in research. The transferable skills you develop will be directly applicable to a career in the public and private space sectors.
