Cryogenics

The Cryogenics group specialises in the development of milli-Kelvin cryo-coolers (based on the adiabatic demagnetisation refrigeration -ADR method) for use in space based and in ground based applications.

We perform fundamental cryogenic research and also dedicated cryogenic projects (e.g The EPSRC funded milli-kelvin cryo-cooler).

Cryogenics Research

Our research interests are focused on key technology components in the development of milli-Kelvin cryo coolers. At the present time this is heat switches and the miniaturization of the cooling technology.

Cyrogenics Missions

We have worked on the development of a number of cryogenic projects, including for ESA and XMS.
