Rad-Sat Team meets at MSSL

The Space Plasma Physics Group hosted the 2nd team meeting of Rad-Sat - NERC Strategic Highlight Topic project to study the Earth's radiation belts. The Rad-Sat team is led by the British Antarctic Survey and includes members from MSSL, Imperial College, University of Reading and University of Sheffield.

The London NERC DTP allows students to study all across the range of topics within the NERC mission, including institutes across London such as the Natural History Museum, Kew Gardens and UCL. Space weather is a key natural hazard within this remit. This year's training helped the students to understand the science, impact and monitoring of space weather.

We would like to thank Catherine Burnett and Mike Marsh of the Met Office and Sheila Kanani and Sian Prosser of the RAS for helping make this training event a huge success.
