Jake Hanlon

PhD Student

Department of Space and Climate Physics

Jake started his doctoral research in October 2023 as part of the Planetary Science Group at MSSL, UCL. His research mainly focuses on the dynamics of grains in cometary dust tails and their interactions with the solar wind. However, his research also extends to exocomets and has recently contributed to an international collaboration coordinated by the International Space Science Institute (ISSI).

Jake completed his undergraduate studies in astrophysics at Aberystwyth University before obtaining a master’s degree from Cardiff University in the same field. Between degrees Jake has worked in education and wealth management which led to him creating a free educational financial planning website. Away from research he and enjoys travelling, hiking, and painting.
