Description

Tectonic Geomorphology examines the teleconnections and feedbacks between tectonics, surficial processes and climate that govern the Earth System. This includes examination of Earth surface topography, causes and consequences of changes in surface elevation including isostasy, erosion, orography and climate change.

By the end of this module students will have a knwledge and understanding of:

  • an holistic understanding of processes and systems that combine to influence the Earth’s geological, atmospheric and chemical evolution;
  • tectonics and landscape development;
  • feedback systems between geological processes and climate;
  • understanding of the processes and controls that govern landscape evolution.

GEOL0004 Dynamic Earth is a prerequisite for Undergraduate students.
