Description

This course is an advanced exploration of one or more issues in syntactic theory. We will discuss seminal papers on and current approaches to some issue or issues of current interest in generative grammar. Teaching will be delivered as a mix of lectures and student led seminars.
The main module objectives are:

  • To enable students to understand current issues in syntactic theory.
  • To enable students to evaluate conflicting proposals critically.
  • To enable them to formulate and test their own proposals.
