This launch event for the IoMH's latest Special Interest Group features a series of presentations from researchers and practitioners showcasing the latest research on the mental health of researchers in higher education. These will cover the lived-experience of researchers and the challenges they face, along with recommendations and coping strategies.

Confirmed presenters include:

  • Dr Siobhan Wray (Associate Professor - Organisational Behaviour, University of Lincoln) - Work-related wellbeing in UK Higher Education Staff
  • Helen Nicholls (ESRC funded PhD Student, Division of Psychiatry, UCL) - exploring the experiences and support needs of researchers who work in academia in the UK
  • Sergio Silverio (Research Fellow, King's College London) - Researching Sensitive, Challenging, and Difficult Topics: Experiences and Practical Considerations for Researchers
  • Professor Evangelia Chrysikou (The Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction , UCL) - The impact of the physical environment on academics' mental health
  • Dr Sarah Jasim, Senior Research Fellow, Applied Health Research - Lost Voices: early career researcher experiences of inequalities in academia
