"Race at the intersection" event series

Race at the intersection | Socioeconomic background and Race | Online panel discussion

Race at the Intersection is a new series of discussion panels created by UCL Engineering's Chika Nweke and Mike Sulu. This series hopes to introduce our audience to how the impact of gender, sexual orientation, disability and socioeconomic background is magnified when one identifies as a Black and Ethnic minority individual.

We are fortunate to be joined by guest speakers from an array of cultural backgrounds who identify with one or more of the protected characteristics to hear their experiences on how their education and career in Engineering has been shaped. Further details will be advertised within the coming weeks.

The first session, on gender and race, takes place on 5 May, 1-2pm, with chair Chika Nweke and speakers Yewande Akinola, Candice Majewski, and Mike Sulu.
