A unique programme exploring 'hot topics' in critical areas in Cardiovascular Biology and Translational Medicine, encouraging discussion/debate.

The themes of the workshop focus on hot topics in cardiovascular biology and translational medicine and novel technologies and therapeutics in cardiovascular disease and critical cellular mechanisms in cardiovascular health and disease including cell phenotyping in atherosclerosis, pericytes and macrophages. One session will cover critical areas and innovations in clinical practice and trials that is hosted this year by the Cleveland Clinic. The final session is devoted to pulmonary vascular disease with a focus on discovery proteomics, pathogenesis and new therapies.

The Workshop focuses on appealing to basic, biomedical and clinician scientists at an early stage in their careers and encouraging them to develop a long-term interest in Cardiovascular Biology and Translational Medicine. The workshop has been well attended and attracts senior clinicians, clinicians in training, scientists and established PIs and postgraduates, from across several key disciplines and research areas. The environment during the on-line workshop will encourage discussion and debate and fostered productive interactions. We feel our workshop is unique and provides a forum to engage clinicians and scientists across a broad range of cardiovascular topics, and to attract the best and brightest young investigators.

This exciting programme includes national and international speakers working in key areas relevant to the Cardiovascular Biology and Medicine, in both the experimental setting and in areas of translational biology and clinical trials: Sara Nunes de Vasconcelos (Toronto), Hugh Watkins (Oxford), Christopher Rhodes (London), Anthony Heagerty (Manchester), Aldo Rinaldi (London), Judith Sluimer (Maastricht), Svetlana Mastitskaya (London), Julie Rayes (Birmingham), Guy Lloyd (London), Simon Redwood (London), Amrita Ahluwalia (London).

There is a nominal Registration fee of £20.
