'From Chasing My Cure to Chasing Our Cures; Lessons learned as a physician, patient, and researcher'
David Fajgenbaum
David Fajgenbaum, MD, MBA, MSc, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, co-Founder & President of the Castleman Disease Collaborative Network, and national bestselling author of 'Chasing My Cure: A Doctor's Race to Turn Hope Into Action'. He is also a patient battling a deadly disease called idiopathic multicentric Castleman disease (iMCD), which he discovered a treatment for that is saving his life and others. Through his work at the University of Pennsylvania's Center for Cytokine Storm Treatment & Laboratory, he has also identified and/or advanced 9 other treatment approaches for iMCD and cancer. Fajgenbaum currently leads over 20 translational research studies including the CORONA Project, which is the world’s largest effort to identify, track, and advance COVID-19 treatments. He also leads a public-private initiative to apply his drug repurposing approach to discover treatments for many more diseases and serves on the Board of Directors for the Reagan-Udall Foundation for the FDA.
