Terms of selection
- The UCL Division of Surgery and Interventional Science is exclusively responsible for selecting the most suitable student candidate. UCL reserves the right not to make an award if, in its judgement, there is no suitable candidate.
- If a suitable candidate cannot be found, the funds will be rolled over and awarded in the following academic year. The scholarship cannot be awarded to a student on another programme.
- The scholarship can be kept open if there is a period of interruption in the recipient’s studies, e.g. if they pause their studies due to unexpected personal circumstances.
- If the scholar leaves UCL, the monies remaining will be awarded to an existing student the next year.
- If, during their studies, the recipient decides to transfer to another UCL programme the award is not permitted to ‘follow’ the student and the remaining funds will be awarded to an existing student on a pro-rata basis.
- The award is solely for the 2025/26 academic year for which the student has applied. If the student decides to defer when they begin their programme, the award cannot be transferred or delayed to a subsequent academic year and will be awarded to another eligible candidate.
