The MBBS integrates basic medical sciences and clinical sciences with professional skills and competences, to be able to award a Primary Medical Qualification. UCL is the gateway to rewarding careers in different medical and surgical specialities and we encourage the development of future leaders in healthcare.
After graduation, the two-year UK Foundation Programme offers opportunities to gain insight into possible career options or build a wider appreciation of medical practice before embarking on specialist training.
Our medical education programmes help you to navigate educational career routes in diverse settings. Graduates are equipped to deliver excellent education in diverse contexts, from university settings to clinical workplaces.
Former master’s students now work in education leadership roles within NHS Trusts, as teaching clinicians, university tutors, lecturers, and researchers in clinical and non-clinical areas. Graduates also become clinical education policymakers and managers.
Every day is different and unique, and I am constantly surprised and challenged. I might start off by joining a ward round in the morning after a handover. We'll see patients with a consultant. We then might break with a tutorial and dive into one of the cases in depth, and then maybe explore some of the subjects in that.

Trial shows reduced mortality in kidney failure patients
Mortality in patients with kidney failure has been found to be 23% lower among those treated with high dose haemodiafiltration compared to those treated with high flux haemodialysis.
