Paid Internships and Work Experience

This initiative widens participation and social mobility in medical sciences by creating a safe, inclusive research and clinical environment and supporting future talent at UCL.

We are committed to increasing the diversity and social mobility of our student population. We welcome applications from all students keen to pursue a career in biomedical sciences and encourage those from disadvantaged backgrounds to apply. Our aim is to give visiting students an understanding of research science and career pathways.

How to Apply

Eligibility for internships:

Internships will be paid at the London Living Wage of £14.80 per hour and the internships must start and finish between June - September 2026. Deadline for applications is 29th May 2026.

You must be:

18 or over at the start of the placement, studying an undergraduate course or equivalent
Able to attend the whole 4 weeks of the internship

Eligibility for work experience:

Work experience will be unpaid, and they must start and finish between June - September 2026. Deadline for Summer applications is 29th May 2026.

You must be:

16 or over at the start of the placement, having just completed your GSCEs or studying for your A-Levels or equivalent.
Able to attend the whole work experience week.
