AIOP is Italy’s leading academy for prosthodontics and restorative dentistry, recognised across Europe for its commitment to clinical excellence, research and the promotion of interdisciplinary collaboration. AIOP YOUNG is a platform dedicated to showcasing the most promising emerging clinicians and technicians in the field under the age of 40.
Dr Malik had previously completed the MS Conservative Dentistry programme at the Eastman and has spent the last three years as an Eastman Hospital Academic Clinical Fellow in Prosthodontics. For his competition entry, Dr Malik presented a complex restorative case alongside his dental technician, Sam Hesketh.
Their collaborative approach was recognised for its exceptional quality, precision and patient-centred outcome. First prize at AIOP YOUNG grants Dr Malik a gold voucher to be spent at a sponsor company, AIOP membership for 2026 and an invitation to the AIOP 2025 Closed Meeting.
This award not only celebrates Dr Junaid Saleem Malik’s individual achievement, but also highlights the standard of excellence fostered at UCL Eastman, where clinical innovation, research and education come together to shape the future of dentistry. We are proud to support Dr Malik in his continued contributions to specialist practice and academic leadership.
