NIHR Research Professor awards
Many congratulations to Professor Shonit Punwani and Professor John Hurst for their NIHR Research Professorship awards. These are huge personal achievements and incredibly good news for the Division of Medicine, UCLH (Shonit) and The Royal Free Hospitals (John).
Bridging the Division of Medicine and the Institute for Global Health at UCL, this Global NIHR award will enable John to develop and evaluate innovative strategies to better diagnose and treat chronic respiratory disease in the context of multi-morbidity, with international partners in Brazil.Professor John Hurst, NIHR Global Research Professorship
This NIHR award will enable us to take the MRI technologies that our team have been developing over the years for the assessment of prostate cancer into clinical practice. Dr Mena Farag awarded a UK DRI Recognition Prize 2025
