Professor Albert Leung, Dean Faculty of Dentistry, Royal College of Surgeons Ireland

UCL Eastman’s Professor Albert Leung has commenced his three-year term as Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Royal College of Surgeons Ireland.

  • Professor Albert Leung, Dean Faculty of Dentistry, Royal College of Surgeons Ireland

Professor Leung is Professor of Dental Education, Head of our Continuing Professional Development Department and Programme Director of our Master’s in Restorative Dental Practice.
 
He is also the Academic Lead for Clinical Skills (Dental Manikin) for the General Dental Council’s Overseas Registration Examinations (ORE). 
 
Professor Leung said: “I am truly honoured to be the Dean at the Faculty of Dentistry of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. 
 
“I am very grateful for very unique experiences and challenges my role at UCL Eastman has afforded me through the years, and I am extremely grateful for the support of many exceptional and inspiring colleagues”. 

“I hope that my Deanship will allow RCSI and the Institute to work closely in collaboration to raise the standard of dental education in the UK, Ireland and beyond”  
 
Professor Leung is the 19th Dean of the Faculty and was sworn in at a ceremony on 14th February.
 
UCL Eastman Director, Professor Stephen Porter said: “I am extremely pleased that Professor Leung has been elected to this position.

“It is a clear reflection of his skills and acumen and I have little doubt that he will further advance the Faculty of Dentistry, Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.”
