Congratulations to Restorative Dentistry student Jessica Sze, who has been awarded this year’s Prestige Dental Prize.
The annual award is given to the best performing student on the Certificate stage of our Restorative Dental Practice MSc and was awarded via the first ever virtual prize giving.
Jessica won a Denar Mark 2 articulator provided by sponsor Prestige Dental.
Deputy Programme Director and specialist prosthodontist Dr Neil Nathwani said: “Despite an exceptionally unusual year, Jessica has worked consistently hard throughout”.
“She has demonstrated an excellent clinical and academic skill set and this prize is thoroughly deserved, well done Jessica.”
The MSc in Restorative Dental Practice is a part-time, three year programme that enhances students’ ability to provide high-quality and comprehensive restorative management for the majority of patients.
Students on the Certificate stage of the programme attend for a year whilst still working in practice. They are taught about new materials and evidence-based techniques by highly-recognised specialists..
This year the course was adeptly adapted, offering comprehensive, blended learning with very essential hands-on skills taught via socially-distanced, face-to-face sessions. We now look forward to meeting the next Certificate class in January 2021 and welcoming back Jessica and many of her classmates to the Diploma stage.

Student story
Link"We are given a great balance of lectures and hands-on practice, and I have really benefit from how friendly and approachable our tutors are...I have discovered the course is very demanding, but also flexible, meaning I can learn without taking too much time away from practice."
