Every year contemporary research innovation and future challenges are showcased in a one-day symposium co-organised by the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) and UCL.
This year, UCL and LSHTM will link with the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) for its very first ‘super-symposium’. The symposium will take place on on Friday 23 March at the John Snow Lecture Theatre at LSHTM. For those who are unable to make the event person, the talks will be live streamed on the day.
The theme for World TB Day 2018 is the challenge of antimicrobial resistant TB, and will include a debate that tackles the question: ‘Do we need host-directed therapy if we have a universal drug regimen?’
By including presentations that cover a diverse range of topics (including: laboratory sciences, epidemiology, health economics, policy research and modelling) from world leaders in their field, the event to encourage discussion and debate around some of the most important themes in the fight against TB.
In addition to the symposium, UCL-TB are putting together a F1000 Special Collection of papers to mark World TB Day.
