  • Professor Crispian Scully CBE – a celebration

Last Thursday, we were very pleased to host an afternoon of celebration, of the life and professional work of Professor Crispian Scully CBE, Dean of the Eastman 1993-2008.

Organised by the present Director, Professor Stephen Porter, the event included informal talks by Professor Scully’s colleagues; national and international leaders of dentistry who covered many aspects of his substantial work* as well as providing humorous snapshots of his personality and motivations.

The afternoon was rounded off by a presentation by Professor Scully’s niece, Ms Louise Pryor, who provided insight into Crispian’s background and important family life.

The meeting attracted guests from around the globe – a marker of the respect felt for the very many achievements of this unique man.
