Tuberculosis (TB) is one of the leading causes of death worldwide. World TB Day, which is observed on 24 March every year, seeks to raise awareness about tuberculosis (TB) and efforts to eliminate the disease.

Professor Ali Zumla is one of the editors of a special issue of the International Journal of Infectious Diseases that is linked to World TB Day and includes several UCL authors. Professor Zumla co-authored 18 papers and Dr Helen Donoghue also has a paper featured in this special issue, 'Insights gained from ancient biomolecules into past and present tuberculosis- a personal perspective.'
