Professor Ane Young gave her inaugural lecture entitled Stand tall and smile - materials for painless repair of tooth and spine on Wednesday 19 October 2016 in reflection of her promotion to UCL Professor of Biomaterials.
Professor Young reviewed her research that is directed towards the creation of materials that will allow the easy repair of decayed teeth in children and the vertebral damage of osteoporosis. It is expected that her research will be rapidly translated into the clinical setting thereby helping reduce the pain of dental or orthopaedic disease that affect populations across the globe.
The lecture was followed by a reception at which the audience (comprising many past and present colleagues) were able to share their experiences of working with such a talented academic as Anne.
