Dr Deborah Gill, Interim Director, UCL Medical School was a joint winner of the prestigious Women in the City Future Leaders Award 2014 announced on Friday 11th July.

The other joint winner was Naomi Bowman, Senior Manager – Governance & Operations – Group Monitor Liaison Office, HSBC Holdings PLC.

The national Future Leaders Award, sponsored by the ICAEW, Google, HSBC and Penna, shines a spotlight on exceptional women and leadership talent. This year’s winners were selected from a shortlist of ten outstanding candidates, with the results announced at the 5th Future Leaders Award Ceremony at Carpenters’ Hall, in the City of London.

Dr Deborah Gill, Interim Director, UCL Medical School, University College London, also commented; “It is an incredible honour to be chosen as the winner of this illustrious award; especially to be selected from such a high calibre field of really excellent and dynamic finalists. Women in universities, especially those who are working at the cutting edge of the changing role of the university, need more recognition of their achievements. This recognition provides that vital support and encouragement. “
