Join Dr Douglas Fink and our current students to explore the fascinating world of Infection and Immunity, a field at the forefront of tackling global health challenges.
You’ll discover how our bodies respond to invading pathogens, how this knowledge leads to life-saving treatments and vaccines, and how immunology is revolutionising cancer therapies through innovations like checkpoint inhibitors and CAR-T cells.
This session will also introduce you to UCL’s Infection and Immunity BSc, a hands-on programme that prepares students to investigate the vital questions shaping the future of medicine. There will be a Q&A session, giving you the chance to ask questions about the course and student life at UCL.
Dr Douglas Fink is a Principal Clinical Research Fellow at UCL and Honorary Consultant in Infectious Diseases, whose research focuses on the immunological mechanisms underlying viral infection, host–pathogen interactions, and responses to vaccination.
He contributes to undergraduate education and outreach by integrating cutting‑edge infection and immunity research with clinical practice, providing students with insight into translational medical science.
