Cancer Biomedicine BSc/MSci Taster Session – Making Discoveries in Cancer Biomedicine & Saving Lives
Join us to discover how research in the lab translates into real-world improvements in cancer care.
Join Dr Thiru Surentheran, Alwyn Dart, and a current UCL student to explore how cancer biomedicine is transforming lives. You’ll learn more about our BSc and MSci Cancer Biomedicine programmes, and discover how research in the lab translates into real-world improvements in cancer care.
With one in two people in the UK born after 1960 likely to develop cancer in their lifetime, and four million expected to be living with a diagnosis by 2030, cancer research has never been more vital. This session will highlight how scientists are working to improve diagnosis, develop new treatments, and overcome resistance—aiming to ensure that three in four people survive cancer within the next 20 years.
There will also be an opportunity to ask questions to staff and current students about the course and life at UCL.
