Clinical Services
Our Jack O'Neill Amyloidosis Laboratory provides diagnostic services, including DNA analysis of genes associated with hereditary amyloidosis and systemic autoinflammatory syndromes, and more.

Histology and Proteomic Analysis
Accurately identifying the amyloid fibril protein is the vital first step for diagnosis of any amyloidosis patient. Our Jack O’Neill Laboratory performs Congo red staining to confirm amyloid deposits.

Molecular Genetic Testing
The NAC is the world's largest and the only centre in the UK specialising in diagnosis, research, and management of amyloidosis and hereditary systemic autoinflammatory diseases (SAIDs).

Research and Trials
The aim of all clinical studies is to increase medical knowledge by performing research in human volunteer participants. Discover more about observational studies and clinical trials.

UK Amyloid Proteomics Facility
We routinely use mass spectrometry-based proteomics, both for clinical diagnostics and for research. UK Amyloid Proteomics (UKAMPRO) is the UK’s only UKAS-accredited clinical proteomics facility.
