The faculty boasts 130 principal investigators, including five Fellows of the Royal Society, 15 members of the Academy of Medical Sciences and three Senior Investigators of the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR).

New gene editing therapy for heart condition is safe
A new type of therapy that ‘edits’ a gene in patients with a rare heart condition has been shown to be safe and effective, according to research from UCL and the Royal Free Hospital.

The Division of Medicine was the first UCL unit to achieve an Athena SWAN Silver Award under the progressive new charter in 2017. We successfully renewed the award in 2022.
