Our work
The mission of the UCL Centre for Computational Medicine (CCM) is to advance the scientific foundations of predictive and personalised healthcare by integrating imaging, mechanistic modelling and artificial intelligence. CCM brings together physicists, engineers, computer scientists, clinicians and industry partners to develop computational approaches that reveal how tissues and organs behave across scales, from cellular processes to whole-organ physiology. By combining high-resolution imaging with physics-informed digital models and modern machine learning, the Centre aims to generate new insights into disease mechanisms, treatment response and biological variability.
CCM is committed to translating these computational innovations into clinical and industrial impact. The Centre develops open-source software, digital-twin frameworks and data-driven tools that support discovery science, accelerate therapeutic development and enable more accurate clinical decision-making. Through collaboration with UCL partners, NHS hospitals and global research organisations, CCM seeks to shape the future of computational healthcare, training the next generation of researchers while delivering methods that can improve outcomes for patients.
