Our research departments

Ageing, Rheumatology & Regenerative Medicine
The Department of Ageing, Rheumatology & Regenerative Medicine combines different disciplines to improve health and find new cures for disease.

Imaging
We cater for imaging research across the entire pipeline, from pre-clinical, through translational first-in-man studies, to large multi-centre studies of high technology platforms within the NHS.

Inflammation and Rare Diseases
We host three centres conducting investigative research into a spectrum of rare and systemic disorders characterised by inflammation, organ-based disease and metabolic alterations.

Institute for Liver and Digestive Health
Our department is formed of six centres that concentrate the entire clinical and scientific activity in Hepatology at UCL with Hepatobiliary Medicine, Surgery and Liver Transplantation.

Renal Medicine
Our clinical and research expertise includes applied epithelial physiology and pathophysiology, renal genetics and cell biology, immunology and inflammation, mineral metabolism, and more.

Respiratory Medicine
Our department conducts ground breaking research on the molecular mechanisms, diagnosis, and management of the major lung diseases, including lung infections, Interstitial Lung Diseases, and more.
