Academic Support and Study Skills

UCLMS offers a variety of study skills resources to help students thrive on the MBBS course. From exam preparation techniques to time management times, the Study Skills Moodle page acts as a central resource to support your academic journey through medical school. You can also use this page to ask questions about your specific year group, meet the study skills team, and more.

Alongside the Study Skills sessions, you can visit the MBBS Amnesty and the RUMS Treasure Trove, where you’ll find lots of useful resources made by the RUMS community. These resources are available to students from the start of the academic year and can act as a guide to managing the demands of the course.

Year 1 Student Advisers

Student Advisers work with students in their first year at UCL to advise on achieving a positive well-being and signposting to the support and services provided by the university. You can find out who the Medical School Student Advisers are and how to contact them here.

The role of the Student Adviser involves:

Advising on achieving a positive well-being
Offering mental health support and signposting to further support where necessary
Signposting to other UCL resources
Advising on Reasonable Academic Adjustments, Extenuating Circumstances, bursaries etc.
