Who is the Divisional Tutor?
The Divisional Tutor for the MBBS, Dr William Coppola, leads our experienced team of MBBS Tutors. The Divisional Tutor is responsible for areas relating to student progression and ensuring that students have a rewarding time at UCLMS, whilst working within the regulatory constraints of the MBBS.
What do the MBBS Tutors do?
Our team of tutors can provide clear and accessible advice on specific areas of the course and the regulations, with a view to helping you make the best decisions for you. They cover:
- course interventions like interruption
- health concerns
- personal, financial and social factors that may impact on progression and performance
- elective planning
- fitness to practise issues (if they arise)
- raising a concern regarding another student (concerns about NHS Placements are managed by our QA Unit, concerns should also be reported through UCL’s Report and Support and MBBS Tutors will be happy to advise you about this)
Who can I speak to at the medical school if I'm worried about something?
We have a flowchart below that explains who you can turn to for advice and support. If you’re still not sure where to turn, or would like some general advice, then please contact medsch.mbbstutors@ucl.ac.uk and our team can direct you to the right place.

Please also check out the A-Z of Policies and FAQs, which addresses frequently asked questions, and signposts you to regulatory and other information which may be helpful to students.
