Sam Marguerat joined the CI in September 2021. He trained as an immunologist in Lausanne (Switzerland) before receiving his PhD from Geneva University (Switzerland). He joined Jürg Bähler (Sanger Institute then UCL), and later took on an independent position at the MRC LMS and Imperial College working on the regulation of phenotypic heterogeneity and scaling of gene expression to cell size using single-cell genomics approaches, quantitative imaging, and mathematical modelling.
