What is your current role and what do you enjoy most about your job?
I am a post-doc at the Centre for Advanced Biomedical Imaging (CABI), working in the cardiovascular pre-clinical imaging group.
I most enjoy the varied nature of research, meeting inspirational scientists, developing new collaborations, and bringing new projects to fruition. At work I enjoy learning how to use new imaging modalities and applying novel techniques to answer my research questions.
What is your background and how did you find your job in this field?
I graduated with a Pharmacology BSc and a Drug Discovery and Development MRes. I decided to pursue a career in research, and I was awarded a BHF 4-year PhD studentship that brought me to UCL. While finishing my PhD I was offered my current role working in Prof. Daniel Stuckey’s group under his BHF senior fellowship.
What are your interests outside work?
I love learning and making, which means that I take up a new hobby every year. My current top three hobbies are yoga, pottery, and gardening. I enjoy participating in the yearly Division of Medicine Growing competition as it provides a small community to share your growing experience. Most recently I took up pottery and you will likely see me drinking coffee with my colourful handmade (but slightly wonky) mugs.
