My name is Shawn and I studied the Cancer Biomedicine BSc degree at UCL.
I have lived most of my life in Shanghai, before moving back to Singapore to finish my IB Diploma.
After finishing high school, I enlisted in the Singapore Armed Forces for two years before continuing my education at UCL.
At UCL, I enjoyed contributing to the scientific community and learning from a world renowned department. In my free time, I enjoyed reading fantasy novels in a park, training Judo and playing my violin.
During my time on the Cancer Biomedicine BSc degree, I have really enjoyed the environment that allows students to shape their own experience at UCL.
The small class sizes and close partnership with the UCL Cancer Institute encourages feedback and a student-led approach to education.
The versatility of the course allows us to pursue our own interests and dive into a variety of career pathways, from business, to psychology, to academia, to clinical pathways.
By working with world leading researchers, we gained invaluable skills and connections while contributing to science and our own communities.
This course is the perfect stepping stone for a long and impactful career.
