  • Student testimonial - Shivani Patel-Singh

I chose to study at UCL Eastman due to is reputation as being one of the best postgraduate education institutes for dentistry. I previously attended a short CPD course and found the teaching to be of excellent quality.

I have found the quality of teaching to be excellent. The style of teaching ensures we are up to date with current developments and has helped us understand the rationale and relevant research behind current treatment approaches. The staff are friendly and very approachable and have made us feel very much part of their team.

The flexibility of distance learning has allowed me to continue with further education. Being a mother of two young children and working part time I would never have been able to have the time to commit to a full-time taught programme. With this programme I can set aside time in the week to study when it suits me. Financially the ability to also work part time is great and allows me to put into practice the theoretical aspect of the course.

I hope from finishing this course I will be able to work as a dentist with special interest in Periodontology in general practice taking on referrals and carrying out both NSPT and Surgical Therapy. I would also be keen to explore hospital based roles or teaching.

Millions could benefit from faster prostate cancer scan
