The UCLMS EDI Committee has launched its Essay prize to raise awareness of the impact of EDI issues in day-to-day clinical practice.

The UCLMS EDI Committee has launched its Essay prize to raise awareness of the impact of EDI issues in day-to-day clinical practice.
The deadline for this is Friday 1st September 2023 (17:00). This essay is open to all UCLMS students. Details of the prize and application process are available on the UCLMS EDI website and below:
Drawing on your experience of the language doctors use in their day-to-day practice and teaching, reflect on the ways it can promote or impede feelings of inclusivity and belonging in patients and students.
- 500 - 1000 words;
- Two winners of £200 each;
- Two runner ups of £100 each;
- Prize is funded via UCLMS EDI Committee budget;
- The award is accompanied by a certificate;
- Submission deadline is 1st September 2023
- The award will be announced at the end of September;
- The prize is awarded by the Medical School on recommendation of the UCLMS EDI Committee co-chairs (panel of four);
