Information gathering
The first step we took was to gather information from a wide range of stakeholders, both internal and external to UCL, including students, academics, staff, clinicians and patient representatives.
Students and staff have told us that:
- We could improve the links between science and clinical practice.
- Content could be more streamlined.
- Timetables are often overly complicated.
- We could be more transparent about assessments.
Student and staff feedback has led to a set of imperatives for our approach to the Curriculum Review:
- To streamline CONTENT
- To enhance integration of COMMUNITY MEDICINE/PRIMARY CARE
- To enhance CLINICAL RELEVANCE appropriate to the stage of training
- To reduce COMPLEXITY
