Green Economy Society

The UCL Green Economy Society was established in 2010 with three core goals: Increase awareness of sustainable development, offer a platform for multidisciplinary discussion of green economy issues, and introduce students to careers in the environmental jobs sector

Nature and Conservation Society

The UCL Conservation Society has the following key aims: To support nature conservation initiatives, research, and campaigns locally, nationally, and internationally, to promote and enhance biodiversity across campus, and to continuously raise awareness, educate and campaign on the ongoing global threats of man-made climate change, biodiversity loss, and ecological collapse.

Animal Rights Society

The UCL Animal Rights Society is a non judgemental, opinion based educational platform with the goal of raising awareness on key animal rights issues and abuses.

UCL Urban Farmers Society

UCL’s very own urban agriculture project which looks after Bentham’s Farm- a tiny student-led farm created in 2012. Their key aims are to: build skills and foster confidence in growing activities, maintain green spaces, improve local biodiversity and provide local produce.

IOE Garden Project

The IOE gardens were created in 2013 by a student-led team and are located on the level 5 terrace of the UCL IOE building, above Institute Bar. New members of the IOE Gardening Team are always welcome with no previous experience necessary!

UCL Zero Food Waste

Zero Food Waste is a UCL student-led volunteering project that aims to tackle food waste on campus. They re-distribute food from where it is in excess to where it is in need (e.g., from UCL cafes to homeless shelters).

UCL Green Walkers

Green walkers is a UCL student-led volunteering project that works together to pick up litter around UCL once a month on fun, engaging walks with other volunteers.

UCL Roots and Shoots

UCL Roots and Shoots is a student-led volunteering project affiliated with the Jane Goodall Institute.Committed to making the world a better place for people, animals and the environment, their volunteers run workshops for local school children on various humanitarian, environmental and conservation issues.

UCL Environmental Justice Project 

The Environmental Justice project is a student-led volunteering project that aims to engage students in secondary schools with humanitarian issues related to climate change and environmental injustices, both within their local communities and further afield.

UCell

UCell are a electrochemical outreach group based at UCL made up of students passionate about hydrogen, clean technologies and electricity storage. They aim to educate and engage everyone with innovative clean energy generation, conversion and storage research and concepts.
