Congratulations to Nazir Sirajudeen, who has been awarded a Wolfson Foundation intercalated degree research fellowship for his project on 'Multi-modal Surgical Process Recognition and Modelling' to be supervised by Prof Danail Stoyanov, Director, Wellcome / EPSRC Centre for Interventional and Surgical Sciences (WEISS).

Nazir joined UCL Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering this academic year on our iBSc Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering (Intercalated) programme.

Nazir commented:

“I am delighted to be awarded the Wolfson intercalated award (for a project looking into AI technology and surgical gesture recognition) and I look forward to starting the Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering iBSc programme here at UCL. I wanted to give a special thanks to Professor Karin Shmueli, Professor Danail Stoyanov, Dr Evangelos Mazomenos and Miss Beatrice van Amsterdam for their support in the application process.”

Congratulations, Nazir!
