Title A microstructure imaging medley

Abstract

This talk will cover current progress from the microstructure imaging team at Lund University. We will venture into free waveform encoding, super-resolution imaging in dMRI, mapping of restricted diffusion and exchange, new perspectives on grey matter, and histological validation in meningioma tumors.

Bio:

Markus Nilsson is lecturer in Diagnostic Radiology at Lund University, Sweden. His background is in engineering physics (MSc 2007) and MR-physics (PhD 2012). Markus' research focus on microstructure imaging with diffusion MRI, and covers biophysical modeling of tissue, experiment optimization, pulse sequence design, as well as early clinical studies in patients with neurological disorders. His group has pioneered the use of free gradient waveforms at clinical MRI scanners for encoding of additional microstructure information related to microscopic anisotropy, restricted diffusion and water exchange.
