Title: Soft Continuum Robots: Challenges in Shaping the Future of Endoscopy
Abstract: Soft continuum robots (SCRs) have successfully demonstrated a broad range of capabilities; proving themselves as strong candidates for integration into future diagnostic and interventional medical devices. To realise their potential for increased safety, better anatomical conformation and reduced costs, a number of translational challenges need to be addressed. Framed around SCRs for low-cost endoscopy, this talk will present case studies from the STORM lab at the University of Leeds, highlighting challenges and considerations related to translation.
