Women in Mathematics Taster Course

The Women in Mathematics taster course is an annual event held within the Mathematics department to encourage more women to study Mathematics at university. It has been running for more than 25 years.

Women in Mathematics Taster Course 2018

The most recent Women in Mathematics taster course was held at UCL on 2nd July 2018.

Those invited to attend the event are currently studying A level Mathematics (or equivalent qualifications) and are seriously considering taking a degree in or involving Mathematics.

Academic staff from UCL including Dr Robert Bowles (Mathematics Admissions Tutor), Professor Christina Pagel and Dr Kim Moore delivered formal lectures and problem solving sessions covering a variety of mathematical topics.

Advice and guidance was also provided on the admissions process and future career options.

The Women in Mathematics taster days are organised by the Careers Group, University of London and they received very positive feedback for this event.
