Department News, October 2020 Part 2

1. UCL had an excellent showing in this year's International Mathematics Competition for University Students: https://www.imc-math.org.uk/?act=results&by=sum

Three students in particular did very well:

•  Dijia Chen got a First Prize with 32 points,
• Mathieu Wofgang Wydra got a Third Prize with 18 points
• Renjie Cui got Honourable Mention with 14 points.

This is the best performance we have had in a number of years. Many congratulations to all the UCL team!

2. Christina Pagel continues to be a frequent, and beautifully clear, commentator on Covid-19 and how we should respond to it. In particular, she was spotted this time last week on Channel 4 News and Sky News, and will be on the Independent SAGE live stream at 1.30 this afternoon (and every Friday) https://www.independentsage.org/
