I encourage people to take the MSc in mathematical modelling run by the Maths Department before starting a PhD. Informal contact from prospective new students is welcomed but questions on admission can only be answered once the application process has been completed. Please look at the Maths page and follow the links.
Funding is never easy and prospective students are requested to do their homework on this. If I have funds linked with a project then these are advertised on jobs.ac.uk. I sometimes supervise students who are part of doctoral training centres at UCL in Security and Crime Ccience and Financial Computing.
