Our Programmes
Systems Engineering Management
This exciting programme equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary to develop a career in technology management or engineering management.
Management of Complex Projects
Many modern projects are complicated and also complex (with unclear requirements). This has been designed to produce project managers equipped to lead the most challenging of projects.
Technology Management
This exciting programme equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary to develop a career in technology management or engineering management.
There are many opportunities for students from the different programmes to interact, share experiences and build professional networks. Optional modules allow students to customise the programme to suit their interests and professional needs.
The Systems Engineering Management and Management of Complex Projects programmes lead to a Master of Science (MSc). They have been developed for professional, experienced engineering managers to study part time while continuing to work full time. They are also available to full-time students who have relevant industrial experience.
The Technology Management programme leads to a Master of Science (MSc) qualification in technology management. It is studied full time and is suitable for graduates straight after a first degree as well as those in the very early stages of their careers.

What Our Students Say
The MSc was a key factor in supporting my own career development in gaining the roles of Chief Engineer & Technical Director, [providing] me with the knowledge and experience of managing complex system projects from initial proposal through to delivery within large organisations across different industries...The wide range of courses available regarding the systems engineering topic can support both experienced and inexperienced engineers by providing them a "toolbox" of methods and practices...
Will Gibby, MAATS Tech Limited
[An MSc] demonstrates commitment to continued learning…and I feel that's something very important for anyone that is serious about their career ... The course is very relevant to my work. I found many examples where the theoretical experience taught on the course had ready application in the workplace ... I did a project management module and got an APM Association for Project Management qualification out of that as well, which I think will be beneficial for me from a career perspective.
Paul Newton, BAE Systems
The engagement between the tutors and the students has exceeded my expectations…discussing in teams how systems engineering can be used in the work place and also discussing with other industry sectors - it was interesting to see their viewpoints on solving similar problems.
Brian Gallacher, Babcock International Group
I chose UCL because it's quite a prestigious, well known university and the fact that it was doing a systems engineering management masters rather than systems engineering … which is what I needed really thinking of career progression ... I've enjoyed undertaking the MSc in London because obviously London is a great place to come and eat out and enjoy yourself - and it's been good that UCL offer modules in week-long courses so that you can do a module at a time.
