| Dr Mohammad Hassannezhad (Project Lead) Mohammad is a Lecturer in Systems Engineering in the UCL Centre for Systems Engineering, where he leads the Systems Engineering MSc Degree Apprenticeship programme. He is a Certified Systems Engineering Professional with 15+ years’ experience in engineering, consultancy, and academic roles across sectors spanning agriculture, automotive, aerospace, telecommunications, health, and public policy. Mohammad is a qualified STEM Ambassador and approved DBS-checked. |
| Paul Eastwood (Industry Advisor, Transport and Infrastructure) Paul is Technical Director at SEMP, a Chartered Engineer with 25+ years’ experience delivering systems engineering across infrastructure, defence, and aerospace. He led major programmes including HS2 and Sellafield, developed Design for Net Zero (D4NZ), and supports Sizewell C in applying systems thinking to complex, first-of-a-kind civil works. |
| Jon Elphick (Industry Advisor, Transport and Health) Jon is a respected and dedicated professional engineer, with a track record of delivering value in complex and challenging environments. Jon is a Director at WSP and a Professor at Birmingham University. He is a systems thinker, educator, mentor and problem solver. He has 30 years’ experience in control systems and railways (including heavy rail, metros and trams). |
| Mikel Santos (Industry Advisor, Energy and Sustainability) Mikel is a Sustainable business leader with over 20 years of experience in clean technology and innovation driven transformation, specialising in energy transition pathways, complex value chain decarbonisation and green finance advisory. He has a proven track record of building and scaling businesses globally in mature and emerging markets across Europe, America and the Middle East. |

| Anmol Patel Anmol is a Systems Engineer at BMT, with experience in maritime, defence, and infrastructure, where she applies systems thinking to complex, interdisciplinary engineering challenges. She is currently pursuing an MSc in Systems Engineering and Management at UCL and is passionate about STEM engagement, through creative, and collaborative approaches. |
| Sagnik Dutta Sagnik is an electronics engineer and a Chevening Scholar, currently pursuing an MSc in Space Science and Engineering at UCL. With over five years of experience in the space industry, he brings a strong foundation in systems thinking—bridging hardware, software, and mission-level design. Passionate about leveraging space technology for sustainable and strategic impact, Sagnik continues to explore innovative solutions at the intersection of engineering and policy. |
| Nada Elmegid Nada is currently pursuing an MSc in Digital Engineering Management at UCL’s Bartlett School. She brings over 10 years’ experience in Project management and innovation within various industries and companies including Haleon, GSK, and Schneider Electric. Nada strongly advocates for women in STEM, as participate in Dell Technologies’ STEM Aspire program, and was the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69). |
| Sanan Garayev I am currently pursuing an MSc in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence at UCL. I have one year of experience in the defence industry, working on vision systems for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). I am deeply curious about intelligence behind scientific discoveries, and human-inspired robot learning. I follow the “learning by teaching” method and enjoy mentoring students on the topics that I have experience. |
| Basher Hazin Basher, 20, is a first-year Engineering Systems student at City St George’s University with 2 years’ experience as an instructor leading team-building activities for children, focusing on safety, communication, and adaptability. He has been developing his systems thinking through Arduino projects and is eager to apply these skills to real-world challenges. |
| Robin Li I am Robin, 22 and am pursuing a MSc in Space Science and Engineering at UCL where I focus on the interdisciplinary nature of spacecraft design and mission planning. Previously, I completed a BSc in Theoretical Physics at Queen Mary University of London where I developed my strong analytical and problem-solving skills. |
| Kacper Piersa Kacper, 19, studies Engineering Systems at City St George’s, University of London. With a passion for problem-solving and innovation, he builds robotics and wearable health tech. He’s also committed to outreach, leading STEM education initiatives that empower young minds to think like engineers and tackle real-world challenges with creativity and systems thinking. |
| Jacqueline Williams I’m currently pursuing MSc in Human-Computer Interaction Design and have two years of professional experience in UX Design. As a recipient of Global Stem Masters Leadership Award at City, University of London, I’m focused towards creating digital solutions that fall at the intersection of inclusivity, usability and assistance. |
