Now in its third year, the award is a joint programme from the UCL Office for Open Science and Scholarship (OOSS) and the UK Reproducibility Network (UKRN). They were selected as the winners for the category 'Activities led by undergraduate or post-graduate students' from a highly competitive field of nominations for their work as part of a Changemakers project with Dr Nathan Green. This student-led project established an innovative, open peer-review system for statistical science undergraduate coding assignments. It addresses a critical gap where students lacked opportunities for detailed, collaborative feedback on their code, a skill vital in both academia and industry.

The selection committee noted that their work "truly stood out and demonstrated a strong commitment to the promotion of open science practices." As part of their prize, the students will receive £100 and will be invited to present their work at the award ceremony.

The department extends its warmest congratulations to Yinan, Eric, and Adelina. The ceremony will take place during UCL’s Open Access Week on 22 October 2025.
