Zak Liddell was recently appointed as the Head of Education and Student Experience for the MAPS Faculty. This pivotal role is to provide leadership and support for developing the student experience
Zak began his HE career as a sabbatical officer, going on to win the NUS HE Officer of the Year. Since then Zak has worked within student support and experience roles for Queen Mary and Loughborough University. Most recently Zak was the Faculty Education Manager for Science & Engineering at Queen Mary, where he led on implementing new student experience strategies and frameworks whilst supporting departments prepare for TEF.
Throughout his work, Zak has always placed emphasis on the need for a culture of collective responsibility in order to develop, and maintain, an outstanding student experience. Zak recently completed a Master’s Degree (“Student Affairs in Higher Education”) which he studied part-time over the last two years. He is eagerly awaiting the mark for his major project which investigated expectations and perceived realities, for staff and students, regarding the impact of ‘Student Voice’.
